At Copper Peak Logistics, our strength comes not just from the work we do, but from the people who show up every day committed to excellence. This Women’s History Month, we are proud to recognize four women whose leadership has helped shape Copper Peak into the company it is today: Stacey Heuer, Merilee Anderson, Katiria “Kay” Rodriguez, and Heidi Grooms.

Together, these four leaders represent 64 years of dedication working for the Lane Family. Their collective experience, leadership styles, and commitment to meaningful relationships have been instrumental in building the culture, standards, and reputation that define Copper Peak.

While each of them leads in different areas of the organization, they share a common belief: great logistics isn’t just about moving product. It’s about people, partnerships, and the responsibility of representing our winery partners with care and precision.

Leadership Rooted in Experience and Passion

Each of these women brings a unique journey and perspective to Copper Peak.

Stacey Heuer, Senior Vice President of Operations, helped build Copper Peak from the ground up. With roots in Sonoma’s wine community and years spent working directly inside wineries, she brings a deep appreciation for the artistry of winemaking and the importance of protecting a brand’s story all the way to the customer’s doorstep. Her leadership focuses on operational excellence, innovation, and empowering team members to see how their work contributes to the larger story of the wineries we serve.

Merilee Anderson, Senior Vice President of Client Services, brings extensive experience from the winery side of the industry, where she led one of the country’s largest wine clubs and direct marketing programs. Her background gives her a unique ability to understand the needs and challenges our winery partners face. At Copper Peak, she leads the client services team, building relationships and helping wineries grow and strengthen their direct-to-consumer businesses.

Katiria “Kay” Rodriguez, Outbound Logistics Manager, has grown alongside Copper Peak since its earliest days, joining the company just months after its doors first opened. As one of the company’s earliest employees, Kay helped shape many of the systems and processes that still guide operations today. Her leadership centers on mentorship, accountability, and helping team members understand the value and impact of their work.

Heidi Grooms, Warehouse Manager, leads our St. Louis facility with a hands-on leadership style rooted in teamwork and support. Having started in customer service before moving into warehouse leadership, Heidi understands how operations and service must work together seamlessly. She believes strongly in leading by example, working alongside her team and building an environment of trust, collaboration, and shared responsibility.

Together, these women bring expertise that spans operations, logistics, customer experience, and winery partnerships, a combination that has been essential to Copper Peak’s growth and success.

Leadership That Shapes Company Culture

One of the defining characteristics of these leaders is how deeply they care about the people around them.

Stacey focuses on empowering team members to think critically, take ownership, and understand how their work impacts the wineries we serve.

Merilee builds strong client relationships, ensuring that our winery partners feel supported, heard, and understood while guiding her team to deliver exceptional service.

Kay invests time in mentoring and developing individuals, helping team members see their strengths and grow into confident contributors.

Heidi leads through action and support, working shoulder-to-shoulder with her team and creating a culture built on trust and unity.

Their leadership styles may be different, but they share a common thread: respect for people and belief in the power of collaboration.

Because of this, Copper Peak’s culture is one where team members feel valued, ideas are encouraged, and everyone understands that their role contributes to something larger.

Relationships at the Heart of Our Work

In the wine industry, relationships are everything.

Our winery partners trust us with their brands, their products, and the experiences they deliver to their customers. The women of Copper Peak leadership understand this responsibility deeply.

They prioritize honesty, transparency, and meaningful communication, both internally with our teams and externally with our winery partners. This relationship-first mindset has allowed Copper Peak to build partnerships that last decades, not just seasons.

From navigating industry disruptions to supporting wineries through unexpected challenges, these leaders have helped ensure that Copper Peak is more than a service provider. We are a trusted partner and extension of our clients’ brands.

Crafting the Copper Peak Story

Copper Peak Logistics did not become what it is today by accident. It was shaped day by day by the people who believed in the vision and worked together to bring it to life.

Stacey, Merilee, Kay, and Heidi have each played a direct role in crafting the systems, culture, and partnerships that define our company today. Their leadership has helped build a workplace grounded in professionalism, collaboration, innovation, and care.

Most importantly, they have helped create an environment where every team member can see their impact and feel proud of the work they do.

Celebrating Leadership and Looking Ahead

This Women’s History Month, we celebrate the dedication, professionalism, and leadership these four women bring to Copper Peak Logistics every day.

Their collective experience, commitment to excellence, and passion for building meaningful relationships continue to shape not only our company, but also the way we serve our winery partners and the broader wine industry.

We are grateful for their leadership, proud of the culture they have helped create, and excited for the future they continue to help build at Copper Peak Logistics.
