The SPICA and Y400 make my day a lot easier, I can load the samples and walk away instead of standing there need to watch it. We save water by washing less glassware and since it is automated, I have extra time to collect more samples for analysis. With the time saved, I get to participate more with trials, testing new products or helping the cellar. It freed a lot of time to work on other projects beyond the lab.

In terms of training on the instruments, if I have any personnel changes, it's easy for me to get them to work as fast as possible. In the past, I had to train them and have them practice repeatedly until I can trust them to work independently.
The SPICA is very easy to use. It is hard to make mistakes and its durability makes it hard to damage the equipment. We literally have 100 plus fermentors that we track all the time.
We run a standard every day. So, I can compare my results, I know that it's accurate. The instruments are efficient, accurate and precise.
