AWT Labels & Packaging is expanding its RFID capabilities to better serve customers across the healthcare, engineered, and consumer markets. By broadening our RFID expertise for both existing and prospective customers, we transform traditional labels into smart data carriers—enhancing efficiency, visibility, and confidence across the entire supply chain, from clinical labeling to consumer applications. Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology elevates labeling solutions by adding real-time visibility and intelligence to products. By embedding RFID into labels and component parts, customers can automatically track items throughout production, distribution, and end use. Eliminating manual scanning reduces errors, improves accuracy, and saves time. The result is stronger inventory control, improved traceability and compliance, faster workflows, and more reliable data to support informed decision-making. In 2024, AWT Labels & Packaging acquired American Label Technol

We are certainly living in different times—times that are difficult to predict and even harder to plan for. Challenges originating far outside our professional world are quickly impacting our day-to-day operations and, ultimately, your business. Throughout 2026, suppliers across the industry have faced significant disruption, and those challenges have inevitably flowed downstream to our valued wine and spirits customers. While none of us welcome this level of uncertainty, it is also not entirely unexpected given the global environment we’re operating in. Recently, the Wine Industry Network published a timely and insightful article that underscores the importance of preparation. The message is clear: we must plan ahead, secure what we can, and remain ready for continued volatility. Duties, tariffs, currency fluctuations, transportation challenges, and unexpected fees are all contributing to rising costs—and the reality is, no one can predict what will come next. What

The clink of glasses, the warmth of late afternoon sun across the vines—these are the moments that define a winery. But digital marketers can get stuck in the rut of Facebook posts and Instagram stories that have become repetitive and rote. How do you translate the sensory magic of a tasting room into strategies that make visitors show up in person? Take a look at some marketing channels that are not as used by wineries, where old-school storytelling and next-gen tech converge to give you a competitive edge. Connected TV: Your Vineyard in 4K Another banner ad, another still photo, another yawn. Sometimes the channel itself can leave you feeling confined to content that lacks vitality. If you’re facing that, and you’ve got the budget, think about going big on video and distributing it via Connected TV.. Connected TV (CTV) lets you beam the romance of your winery directly into living rooms, framed by the cinematic power of streaming. Think smart TVs, Roku, Apple TV&

In this episode, George interviews Michael Haney, Executive Director of Sonoma County Vintners. They discuss Haney’s upbringing in Nashville, TN, how he first entered the wine industry almost 35 years ago by helping run Nashville’s Wine Auction, meeting his wife, Juliana Martinelli of Martinelli Winery, and eventually moving to Sonoma County. Around the same time, Haney began his career with the Sonoma County Vintners (SCV). They also dive into the work that SCV does, including their commitment to their members, their community involvement through the SCV Foundation, and their political advocacy for the wine industry. These days, Haney is going live on the SCV radio show Vine, Wine & Dine (https://vinewineanddine.blogspot.com), which airs every other Wednesday at The Matheson, and preparing for the Sonoma County Wine Celebration and Auction (https://winecelebration.sonomawine.com) on September 19-21.

When I start feeling optimistic, I imagine one or two people might read these blogs, (although I have a sneaking suspicion that they sit out on the internet equivalent of a doctors waiting room table between the large type Reader’s Digest and June 2004 People magazines). But I wouldn’t be able to legitimately pretend to be an industry expert if I didn’t do the obligatory “predictions” blog. I will stick to my lane: Marketing. Because it’s what I know and also there are many other excellent articles out there with overall market predictions. (But, then again, what do I know? My senior thesis at Boston University was an analysis of radio and TV media consumption patterns with the supposition that cable television would never take off because people wouldn’t pay for it.) So, I’ve been wrong. Like, really wrong. But assuming I get lucky sometimes, here are five things I believe will come to pass. 1) GENERATION X WILL DEMAND ATTENTION. We&rsq
